Christa Krohn

Senior Director of Learning Systems

Christa Krohn is the Senior Director of Learning Systems at TIES Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM, bringing over 20 years of education experience spanning from 5th grade to college-level instruction in math and physics. With a diverse background as a teacher, gifted educator, adjunct college professor, and curriculum and instruction specialist PK-12, she holds teacher, principal, curriculum instruction, and professional development licenses.

As the founder of Lima Senior High School’s NASA moonbuggy program and contributor to MC2 STEM High School, Christa has shaped project-based learning and capstone project planning. She has collaborated with influential entities like the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Innovation Lab Network, Stanford University’s Center for Assessment, Learning, and Equity (SCALE), and Envision Learning Partners, contributing to integration of performance assessments and competency-based education.

An advocate for instructional coaching models, systemic change, STEM and PBL integration, revamping PK-12 math curriculum, and applying Universal Design for Learning with anti-racist practices, Christa played a key role in securing a significant grant for an Ohio School district, resulting in the establishment of a digital fabrication lab. Recognized in 2017 by the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) with a middle school teacher award, she has held leadership roles, including president and executive director of Learning Forward Ohio.

Through her involvement in TIES’ global STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice (SLECoP), Christa has contributed to transformational leadership initiatives, Ecosystem development, STEM educational alignment, as well as AI and emerging technology policy and projects. She and her husband, recent empty nesters, reside outside of the greater Cleveland, Ohio, area.
