Great Lakes ReNEW

Partnerships to Grow a Water-Focused Economy

Great Lakes ReNEW, is one of ten inaugural NSF Regional Innovation Engines and was awarded up to $160 million over 10 years from the U.S. National Science Foundation to develop and grow a water-focused innovation engine in the Great Lakes region.

This Innovation Engine is anchored by Current, a Chicago-based water innovation hub, alongside more than 50 partners that span research institutions, industry, investors, government and nonprofit organizations with a shared goal of developing and commercializing better “selective separation” technologies. TIES is one of those partners.

Collaboration for the Blue Economy

As the backbone of the national Ecosystems initiative, TIES has organized a cross-sector group of leaders and experts to expand the blue economy of the Great Lakes Region.
